STRATEGIC PLAN (2012-2014)

May 2012

Since the grand opening celebration of the West Windsor Arts Center, the West Windsor Arts Council (WWAC) has spent over a year engaged in information gathering, discovery, synthesis, and renewal. Rising to the top of WWAC priorities was the need for a multi-year strategic plan with the formation of a Strategic Planning committee.

The WWAC Strategic Planning Committee was comprised of Trustee Board, Staff and Community members who conducted and collated interviews with key constituents from the business, corporate and governmental communities as well as individual members of the community at large. The committee solicited opinions, observations and perceptions about WWAC and its future that were recorded, compiled and analyzed. Goals were identified and organization-wide planning retreats were held to validate and affirm these key strategic goals.

The resulting Strategic Plan (the ‘Plan’) provides the organization with a forward looking focus and will be instrumental in guiding and prioritizing the activities of WWAC. Our view of the strategic plan is – it is a living document that will require quarterly check points for the various initiatives; their progress and feasibility against the Plan's original definition, deliverables and timeline.

We want to express our deep appreciation to the Strategic Planning Committee members who contributed time from their personal and professional lives to sift, sort, question, and analyze the data that was gathered during the process followed by the direction and creation of ‘Plan’ documents. The members of the WWAC Strategic Planning Committee included: Paul Cerna, Corinna Bisgaier and Eduardo Garcia. With a special thanks to Karen Schoenitz and Karen Yee who took turns serving as the committee chair. Also to be noted is the significant contributions made by the various members of the executive committee to the formulation of the strategic plan and its timeline.

Many individuals participated in this planning process, sharing their ideas as well as their vision for our organization. Their active participation in this process of collaboration and cooperation helps ensure our success. I wish to extend my sincerest appreciation to each of them for being an important and integral part of the development of our future.

The plan we have developed embodies our vision to:

Strengthen our Organizational Structure and Financial Means

•   Increase our Visibility

   Expand Programs & Services

   Identify Strategic Partnerships

This document is made vibrant not by the words it contains but by the hope that it will inspire in each of us to support our vision to enrich our community through the arts.
