Some good ole' rock and roll, some funky blues and a little jam band...all add up to a whole lot of summer fun with Jersey's home-grown talented guitarist and vocalist, Billy Walton.

The West Windsor Arts Council will bring a bit of the Jersey Shore to Central Jersey! Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny were the two acts that made their way to an international stage from the humble beginnings of the “Jersey Shore.” For decades musicians have come and gone, always hoping to make a living and pursue a dream. Billy Walton is no different. Billy’s proving ground was Long Beach Island. There he was chaperoned from gig to gig by his Mom, as he was too young to drive around and enter the clubs on his own. He always was up for a jam and looking to learn some musical licks. For years Billy spent his time sharpening his skills, developing his stage act until he decided to step up to center stage with the Billy Walton Band.

Good things have been happening to the Billy Walton Band. As the band grew a following along the shore, it also focused its effort in the UK. 10 tours since 2007 have established the group in the fertile British Blues Rock scene. In 2010 Billy got the call to join in with one of the masters of the Asbury Park sound, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. For much of 2010 and 2011 Billy toured with the Jukes. Most people don’t know that Southside is one of Jon Bon Jovi’s biggest influences. As a member of the Jukes, Billy got to jam with “JBJ” as well.

The band will perform tracks from, Crank It Up, the latest release, which came out in April 2012. Besides Billy Walton, members of the band include Richie Taz on sax, William Paris (of Robbinsville, NJ) on bass and Johnny D’Angelo on drums.

IN CASE OF RAIN: Please check the website marquee on day of concert for weather contingencies.
